Maple Tree Description

Acer Palmatum Dissectum Viride Group or Acer Viridis is sometimes called Laceleaf Japanese Maple. “Viridis” comes from the Latin description “Folia Viridia” meaning green foliage, and now Viridis is sometimes referred to as any form of green dissectum. It is a dwarf, only growing to 6-10 feet tall and wide if its main branch is led up a stake. Viridis is multi-stemmed, twisting its branches in unique shapes until its canopy forms a dome-shape over time. The delicate lace-like leaves come out bright green in the spring, turn a bit darker green in the summer, and end in a golden yellow color with splashes of crimson in the fall. It is quite versatile, growing well in deep shade or in full sun. Viridis is similar to the cultivar Waterfall, but it is slightly greener and fills out before it grows taller, whereas Waterfall grows taller before it fills out. Viridis is a great choice for patios or next to a pond.
