Maple Tree Description

The Purple Ghost is another one of our variegated varieties, meaning multiple colors at once. It is an upright tree reaching about 10-12 feet high and 6 feet wide in 10 years. It has unique sharp-toothed, crumple-edged leaves that add to its appeal. In the spring, the leaves are a dramatic reddish-pink with almost black colored veins that dramatically contrast the leaf color. In the summer the leaves turn a reddish-purple color, changing to orange and then scarlet in the fall. This variety prefers morning sun with afternoon shade.
