Maple Tree Description

The Fireglow Japanese maple tree was named for the way the leaves glow as the sun shines through them when you stand underneath the tree and look up. Similar to the Bloodgood, the Fireglow has palmate shaped leaves and stays red throughout the year. Unlike the Bloodgood, it has a much smaller profile and only reaches 10-12 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide in 10 years. It also has a more intense red color that stays throughout the summer, tolerating full sun even in the south. In the spring the leaves come out as a bright pink-red, turn a deep red in the summer, and end with a purple-red color in the fall.
