Maple Tree Description
Red Dragon is another variety with a small profile in the garden, reaching only 5-6 feet tall if its central branch is led up a stake. In the spring the lacy leaves emerge as bright scarlet red, then become dark burgundy in summer, changing back to a flaming scarlet in the fall. Red Dragon prefers the sun, but is able to keep its deep red color in the shade better than any other red dissectum. This cultivar slowly develops into a beautiful cascading mound shape and would be perfect as a bonsai or container plant.
